A Founding Member of the Christian folk group "The Spokesmen",

whose first album "Speak Out Spokesmen", was recorded by Benson Records (Impact Records) in 1969. Produced by Bob McKenzie at RCA studio "A", and "B" won the Evangelical Film Society award for Best Contemporary Group in 1969. This was before the Dove Awards. Contemporary Christian Music began in the mid 1960's with groups like The Truth, Larry Norman, Evie Tornquist, Gene Cotten. Ralph Carmichael was a big influence in the developement of Contemporary Christian Music.
